Mixed Textures

Hi everyone!  It’s been a while!  Well it’s been about a week but that’s pretty long for me because at one point, I was posting twice a week.  My schedule has changed a little and it’s not as easy to schedule a photo shoot because of our conflicting schedules.  In the end we were able to work something out, so expect to still see a new post from me at least once a week!

Now on to todays outfit!  I love playing with textures in my outfits.  It makes the outfit look more three-dimensional and interesting.  Even if the whole outfit is monochrome, just mixing up the textures will make the outfit visually appealing.

This jacket is the perfect example of mixed textures.  I love the leather trim and the slight shimmer in the jacket.  This was actually given to me as a gift and I must say, they know me very well! This jacket is right up my alley and a perfect addition to my fall wardrobe!

Paired with this jacket is a chunky knit sweater.  To make the details on the jacket stand out, I wore a more muted and subtle color.

One of the newest additions to my closet is this ombre circle scarf!  The color of this scarf is just amazing!  I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been wearing a lot of cooler tones lately.  Even my nails were metallic blue.  Totally wasn’t planned by the way!

Because of the leather trim on the jacket, I thought it would be perfect to pair my liquid leggings with it.  This legging is the perfect combination of edgy and chic.  I love how it can easily change up an outfit and makes any simple sweater look amazing if paired together!

As you can tell, I have head to toe textures in this outfit.  Well, technically neck to toe.  These ankle boots have this gorgeous snake-skin print by the heel.  I don’t generally wear shoes with thick heels, but I’m starting to really like it.  It’s so comfortable to walk in and makes the outfit more casual.  Casual was what I was going for by the way.

So that pretty much sums up this outfit!  Hope you are all having an amazing week so far!  Oh and if you want to see what my daily activities or outfits are, follow me on instagram!

  1. Stunner! Adore how you mixed up different textures and elements into this outfit including the subtle hues and relaxed layering. Your jacket and booties are my personal favorite pieces from this outfit… both are perfect additions to your fall wardrobe and create quite the iconic sole statements.

I really wanted legging like this but, I am only 5’2″ and can not get them to fit like this. They fit you well, I love the outfit.

You look taller in pictures. I have new inspiration for this look now, thank you. I will try more like you say.
